Archistoric Products LLC was formed in 2003 to purchase the assets of the Wilmer S. Snow Company, which was established in 1923. Archistoric melds Architectural and Historic to produce products of the highest quality using only the finest materials and techniques.

In 2006, Archistoric purchased Lang Levin Studios, Ltd. a leading source for hand-made custom lamp shades, pendants and fixtures for restaurants, hotels, clubs and private residences.

Whether custom designed for a specific project, each fixture is produced by hand in our Chicago facility.

In addition to our manufacturing capabilities, we also maintain a historical archive of over 3,000 lighting designs dating from the early 20th century to the present. These designs are a constant inspiration to architects and designers.

Archistoric Products is a UL shop. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (est. 1894) is an independent, not-for-profit product-safety testing and certification organization. The UL Mark is one of the most recognized, accepted and trusted symbols in the world. When we apply our UL label to a lighting fixture, it means that we have followed the safety standards for mechanical and electrical construction, and testing required by UL to insure the light fixture is safe.

The early 20th century was a remarkable time in the history of architecture, with some of the field's most prominent practitioners working in and around Chicago. At that time, Chicago was also home to Wilmer S. Snow, a lighting designer and graduate of the School at the Art Institute. Snow built a reputation for creating architectural lighting known for both its design and its craftsmanship. During this period, Snow's work was commissioned as an integral part of the architectural design process. This process depended heavily on renderings, design drawings and shop drawings that make up the basis for the vast Archive Collection. He also created a large number of original drawings for unique lighting fixtures which were archived and never produced - until now.

Founded in the early 1930's, Lang Levin Studios is a leading source for fine hand-made custom lampshades, pendants and fixtures for restaurants, hotels, clubs and private residences throughout the world. The Studio creates silk and linen shades (pleated, shirred, stretched, or smocked), painted shades, lacquered paper shades, laminate shades, and custom shades. Our pendant lights are handmade and available in countless shapes and sizes.
